As such, then, the compendium of information is so vast at this point that one  must determine the value of one collection and content compared to another. With all the possibilities existing, how does one accomplish this task? After the introductory paragraph, the student will  want to concentrate on fleshing out the body of the paper. If the introductory paragraph has been constructed well, the salient points will already be there, waiting for elaboration. For  example, the introductory paragraph states that there is a wide collection of information out there. One needs to now become more specific and mention what sorts of information will be  concentrated on. In this case, it will be a comparison of various encyclopedias. Three general encyclopedias will be compared. One which is online, one which is in print and the  other which is in a CD format. It is a salient point which the student will wish to make that comparing all of these varying types of formats will most  adequately represent the diversity within the scope of the encyclopedia. Increasingly, students and researchers are turning to the online and CD formats more than the print varieties. Why? The first  set to be examined is the Encyclopedia Britannica. This is the 2002 edition and costs around four hundred dollars in the print form. This was chosen because it is one  of the most widely purchased and utilized as a print encyclopedia. Additionally, the Britannica is available in CD format, making it easy to compare. Selecting the topic of the Viola  de Gamba, an early precursor to the Cello, the Britannica is quite verbose. The Britannica offers a color picture, and breaks the topic down into history, origins, sound of the
