The paper begins with a brief history of Chrysler, which introduced its first car in 1924 but when it acquired Dodge, it's history took a new beginning, in 1924. The history is extremely complex and long, thus, a shortened history of highlights is provided. The essay then turns to a SWOT of Chrysler LLC, the new company under the ownership of Cerberus Capital Management. The essay ends with a Porter Five-Forces Analysis with concluding comments. This paper also identifies the new executives, as they were available at the time of writing, an analysis of strategic decisions made by the company and recommendations for the company. New York Automobile Show in January 1924 (Chrysler Corporation, 1966). It was an innovation in the auto industry in that it was a medium-priced auto that had "a six-cylinder, high-compression
engine, a seven-bearing crankshaft, carburetor air cleaner, replaceable oil filter - and four-wheel hydraulic brakes" (Chrysler Corporation, 1966). It became an immediate hit, so much so that the 1925 model
was changed only to include "a vibration dampener that was friction-driven by a hub on the crankshaft for smoother performance" (Chrysler Corporation, 1966). The success of this automobile led
Maxwell Motors Corporation to transfer all of its holdings to Chrysler which then became known as the Chrysler Group (Chrysler Corporation, 1966). Maxwell had been producing cars since 1904 (Bowman,
