    are highly influenced by the nature of our species. When we truly examine the facts we can understand that we have been uncivilized, living off the land and engaging in  primitive acts, for far longer, in the entire history of man, than we have spent being civilized. We forget that only a few hundred years ago we had no such  thing as stores, cars, electricity, or anything that makes life supposedly more civilized today. Bearing this reality in mind it should come as no surprise that we are still creatures  who engage, perhaps every day, in sustaining the seven deadly sins. We like to think that we are above all that, but therein lies one aspect of a deadly sin,  the sin of pride that suggests we are more than we truly are. In the following paper we examine three of the deadly sins and illustrate how they are alive  and well, if not thriving, in our supposedly civilized society. The sins discussed are anger, pride, and lust. Anger In looking at anger we note that people find  it somewhat distasteful, or threatening, if another gets angry. We are taught to essentially suppress the anger, or express it without demonstrating a truly angry tone. In essence, it is  not polite to become angry. But, anger is a very natural emotion and a very natural reaction to particular events. Sometimes anger indicates that there is a threat present and  anger protects us and rises our adrenaline so we can, in natural manner, deal with the realities that surround us. Anger in the old days was often manifested in  acts of violence, or so we are told. It was also thought to essentially disrupt a civilized society for anger gets us nowhere. But, that does not mean it is
