Introduction Vodafone has had a chequered history, the use of dividend signalling and the confidence shown by the  management has helped see the organisation through some difficult times. The investors will look not only at the short term, but also at the long term, past mistakes such as  overpayment for 3G contracts in to the future. To consider the patterns seen as Vodafone the first port of call for the investor will be to look at the financial  ratios from the annual account. Using the figures provided by the student the paper starts with a financial analysis of the company and then places this into the larger context  with the use of a SWOT, PEST and a Porters Five Forces analysis. 2. Financial Analysis A financial analysis is always undertaken on historical figures, by the nature of  annual accounts the figures given will be out of date by the time they are read and used. However they are also able to give a good indication of the  company and its position and any notable trends.
