Introduction The sale of cars is increasing, the market is mature and in line with most market model  as the market reaches maturity there will be increased price competition as the products become more generic. The car manufacturers seek to over come these market conditions with the introduction  of new car models and the remodelling or restyling of older models in order to create differentiation that is attractive to their potential markets to help maintain sales in a  marker where it is generally accepted there is a surplus of supply. Where a car is marketed efficiently with a supported feature or image that makes it attractive this may  be seen as a very valuable asset to the business. The difficulty in any market is determining which characteristics make a car more attractive is the assessment of what  is or is not attractive to the potential buyers and which factors will impact on the buying decision. By understanding the influences in how a car is chosen both car  manufactures and retailers of new cars can benefit. 2. Research Objectives For any company, knowledge of the influences will help the  development of new models and the remodelling or adjustments to holder models.
