in which changes in ecosystems can impact in the short and long term on all forms of life. One recent threat to the environment has been Japanese Knotweed, with the  formal name of Fallopia Joponica. Japanese Knotweed is not new to the UK, it was introduced during the nineteenth century due to the attractive nature of the leaves. In the  east the reproduction of this plant is though seed fertilisation. A major problem of Knotweed in Europe is the adapted method of reproduction, instead of requiring seed production and  fertilisation to take place, it grows from cuttings, a small rhizome less than 5 millimeters is capable of producing a new plant. Technically all the plant in Europe are clones  due to this method of reproduction. By reproducing in this way many of the natural barriers to proliferation and controls that could help prevent the spread have been avoided. The  result is a plant that is able to spread unchecked. The nature of Japanese knotweed is a also very invasive, able to breakthrough tarmac, is astatically unpleasant and reduces land  values in the short term. In the longer term damage includes damage to fold defenses, the destruction of archeological sites, increases the risks of soil erosion and flooding and also  reduces the biodiversity of an area where there is an intrusion due to the rate and nature of the growth of the plant. The only solution is the destruction of  the plant in the infested areas. These factors all bring together the factors that indicate there is the need for a service that can help reduce this problem. For example,  in Swansea alone it is estimated there is 62,000 tones of knotweed, this is the same weight as 40 blue whales. 2. Objectives When setting up any businesses there
