Introduction Celtic fairy tales, like any fairy tales,  are tales filled with mystical and magical occurrences and creatures. Interestingly enough, they are not only entertaining, but also incredibly informative regarding the psychological condition of mankind. Bearing this in  mind we can readily understand that the theme of death in fairy tales is quite significant when understanding a people, or ourselves and where we came from. Such is clearly  the case with Celtic fairy tales, which are the fairy tales most European descending Americans know in one way or another. In light of these facts, and possibilities, we present  the following paper which examines the Celtic fairy tale, focusing in the role and meaning of death. The paper discusses the figure of the Banshee woman and other characters in  better understanding the psychological significance of death in Celtic fairy tales. What are Fairy Tales and What Do They Represent From a psychological perspective, we first look at  what fairy tales are, in relationship to other types of stories.
