    different cultures, for example, will often become involved in drugs and alcohol for reasons that are slightly different than others. And, bearing this in mind the treatment for people of  all different cultures needs to be adjusted to some degree in addressing the needs of various people. Of course, drug and alcohol abuse normally comes down to some very basic  truths that transcend all cultural barriers. These truths which lead people to drug and alcohol abuse are, more often than not, associated with levels of desperation and a sense of  inadequacy, and levels of education. Bearing that in mind the following paper first examines alcohol and drug abuse among different ethnic people in the United States. While this perspective may  discuss people who have recently immigrated here, it is predominantly an opening into the world of drugs and alcohol as it is divided among races in the country. The paper  then discusses Some of the problems associated with recent immigrants who are heavily immersed in a drug or alcohol problem. Following that is a case study concerning adolescent Asian Indian  immigrants and their drug and alcohol problems. The paper finishes with treatment perspectives which address all alcohol and drug abusers. The focus of treatment is essentially that which involves education  and the offering of support through interpreters, mental health assistance, and other forms of approach. Ethnic Divisions As an introduction to the conditions facing people from various ethnic  backgrounds, a perspective which can help people understand how immigrant fit into the picture, we look at the different cultures today that exist in the United States. When looking at  these cultures, some of which are only recent citizens, such as the second generation Latinos, we begin to see how each culture is different in their approach to drug and
