    "demonstration and communication" between parties. The facts of this case include the idea that there is a socioeconomic discrepancy and that the hospital needs more funding. There is also a  need for more outpatient services and the hospital director is at odds with the activists. What the demonstration is about has to do with the allocation of resources. Obviously,  if the hospital would utilize resources for outpatient services as opposed to what is deemed as frivolous pursuits, then the community would be better served. In general, when financial resources  are problematic, it is sometimes the way in which moneys are distributed that becomes the problem. The community also expresses that they may not be able to continue to support  this hospital and a mediator will act to try to resolve the difficulties that exist between the community and Elmwood Hospital. Issues that had been presented, according to the  case study, involve the use of "fundraising money." One proposal is to replace the Board of Trustees with a community controlled board. Obviously, a new board would perhaps be able  to render decisions that might be more favorable for the community at large. Another community goal is to increase outpatient facilities by 100 percent and also to create a neighborhood  health and daycare facility. Another proposal is the creation of a preventative diagnostic health team that is also mobile. The team should be comprised of residents who have been selected  by the CCC and the director should be selected by the community. There is an expectation that mediation should occur without duress and that the financial problem will be  resolved. In fact, according to Roth, " mediation offers a quick, efficient, and manageable way to produce litigation outcomes that the parties can live with" (2004, 35). How is mediation
