Ben & Jerrys for example is a firm that respects employees and makes sure that the lowest level employee is not paid lower  than a percentage of the CEOs salary. In some way then, all employees are assured attention. In respect to organizational culture, these types of firms value each and every employee  from the janitor who washes the floors at night to the CEO who sits in a big office. In designing a model organizational culture, with a bottom line focus, it  seems that one where a firm is run in this manner-the opinions of all employees are valued-- is a model worth implementing. The fact that such models are effective  is not a surprise. Motivation and commitment are important concepts for any organization and also aids on the public relations front. People like to purchase goods from companies that are  good to employees and avoid firms which express arrogance or even neutrality. People want organizations to show that they care. Still, an organizational culture can be structured with a bottom  line focus but also may assure balance in terms of innovation and discovery. Individuals will have to be given free reign to expand on their ideas. There also must be  a balance between discipline and innovation. It is not enough to simply hand the reigns to the next person and see how they do. What might an effective organization look  like that focuses on lower level employees as a driving force? In examining this perspective, decision-making looms large. Lower level employees must be given the authority to make decisions. Employee  empowerment is very important in the scheme of things and aids organizational effectiveness. Why? The employee who is able to make decisions and make a difference will be a motivated
