There are different tools that can be used, such as Yourdon methodology which uses data flow analysis and mini-specifications, or  a system of sequential functional charts. This will also accompany the need for along side the development of the system for the accompanying paperwork and manuals to be developed so  that users will understand them. A system is needed that the administration staff can set up with the required data fields, such as name and details of the student  and modules being studies. However, the access to other data fields is limited with the results only be accessible for entering and for adjustment by the lecturers or the senior  lecturer. The tutors need to have read only access to ensure the result input are the correct results. The head of school requires a different access level, with the ability  to process data to produce the final results, bringing the different results together. AS the head of school also implements the exam boards instruction there may need to be rights  to adjust the grades here. Administration are likely to be those delegated to print off the details for the students reports. However, there is also the issue of confidentiality  here, with the grades being confidential. Therefore, the read only rights of a senior member of the administration staff may need to match those of the tutors where the results
