    in the middle of the 1980s when in the United Kingdom, TGI Fridays arrived on the scene. This chain came from the United States and has its roots in the  1960s; it had been a success in the United States since that time according to this case. Carlson Hospitality group would acquire this restaurant chain which owned about ten restaurants  during the mid-1970s. The case study includes the notion that this was a very different environment for Britain and also that Fridays cared about its guests and it seemed  to care more than its competitors. Hence, it seems as if good customer service is at the crux of Fridays mentality. The restaurants, decorated all the same, have what the  case study terms "elegant clutter." There is attention to hiring and the case relays the idea that employees audition for the roles as opposed to interviewing. At these auditions, candidates  are given a series of tasks to complete. This seems to weed out people who will not add to the Fridays image. People are hired if they appear as if  they will be dedicated to the firm. Yet, they are encouraged to allow their personalities to shine through. The case study notes that there is an unusually high rate of  staff retention at Fridays establishments. The case study highlights the fact that there is much attention to detail and menus for example are carefully planned. Its advertising has been considered,  according to the case "off the wall." The commercials are different from ordinary restaurant commercials. According to the case, the target market is working people between the ages of 25  and 49 but the restaurant typically attracts people in their thirties. The company supports the triangle theory, according to this case study, as there must be balance between the company,
