Emancipation Proclamation : An 8 page paper
detailing
many of the events that took place in the development of the

actually in favor of the federal government becoming
involved in the abolishing of slavery. He had hopes that the

would eventually influence the South. After some time this

take a more aggressive action. This action became concrete
with the Emancipation Proclamation. Extensive bibliography

Freedom & Slavery / Is Freedom Really Better? : A
9 page
paper discussing opinions surrounding the issue of freedom
as it relates to all aspects of life in regards to two separate
pieces of work. One piece of work is The Lowell Offering,
edited by Benita Eisler, and The Narrative of the Life of
Frederick Douglass, by Frederick Douglass. The Lowell
Offering is a book which is a compilation of narratives by
the mill working woman. These women were free and
worked for a wage. In Frederick Douglasss book he was a
slave and later became a free man. There are many
similarities and differences but the question that needs to be
addressed and answered, based on these two works, is
whether or not the institution of slavery was better at taking
care of the worker than the industries that offered them jobs.
