Do Electromagnetic Waves Cause Cancer?
: An 11 page
paper which addresses the question of whether electromagnetic
waves cause cancer. The paper is divided into sections which
first address issues concerning the fear and tension that is
evident in many communities in light of the possibilities. In
addition the paper illustrates many different studies which have
been conducted, in an attempt to uncover the answer. It
becomes evident that there are several types of problems
associated with combining the studies results and the accuracy
of the studies, in light of changing environmental conditions.
Overall, there is little evidence that can concretely illustrate that
such electromagnetic waves cause cancer, yet there is an ample
amount to indicate there is a serious connection somewhere.

Cancer / A Comparison of Incident Rates Between
African American and Caucasian Men : This 9 page paper
assesses the problem of prostate cancer and provides a
comprehensive view of the variances of incident rates in two
populations: African American and Caucasian Men. This
research study provides an overview of the assessment of the
independent variables of the two races and their impact on the
dependent variables, the incident rates. This paper also defines
the scope of the problem from a general perspective and then
the issue for each of these populations. Bibliography lists 5

Factors Affecting Cancer and Heart Disease Mortality
Rates : A 30 page paper discussing separately factors affecting
the mortality rates of heart disease and cancer, then comparing
lifestyle factors that can apply to both in reducing those
mortality rates. Cardiovascular disease is the nations
number-one killer; cancer comes in at number two. Risk factors
for cardiovascular disease are more controllable from the
individuals point of view than are those of cancer, which
includes several life events and conditions over which the
individual has no control. Those most at risk in the US are the
poor, and particularly the poor minorities. For either
cardiovascular disease or for cancer, early detection is the most
effective of all control measures. Bibliography lists 30 sources.

Pneumonia and Heart Murmurs : A 5 page paper which
discusses the two different conditions and examines whether
their is any obvious correlation between the two. While all
medical conditions have some form of correlation with other
conditions experienced, many conditions do not have any
obvious relationship to one another. Such is the case with
pneumonia and heart murmur. While the two can possibly effect
one another, it appears as though they do so in a very subliminal
way, if at all on any significant level. Bibliography lists 4

Cancer and Diet : This 5 page paper provides an
overview of
the role of nutrition in the treatment of cancer. Both liver and

Stem Cell Therapy : A 2 page paper discussing the
stem cell
aspect of chemotherapy. Stem cells are the progenitor cells of
all types of blood cells, including the white blood cells that
combat infection and invasion, and red blood cells that supply
nourishment to all the tissues of the body. They primarily
reside in the bone marrow, but some also can be found
circulating in the blood. Cancer chemotherapy depresses bone
marrow activity so that fewer blood cells are produced. Stem
cell therapy involves harvesting bone marrow prior to
chemotherapy treatment, then reintroducing it following
treatment so that blood cell production can occur at optimum
rates. Bibliography lists 2 sources. KSstem.doc
Breast Cancer & Coping Strategies : A 12 page
paper that
provides an overview of coping strategies of people with
serious illnesses and then considers these in terms of breast
cancer. This paper also suggests ways in which knowledge of
these coping skills impacts nursing. Bibliography lists 12
